My Story Is Your Story
Let me begin by saying that I've always been a grateful person for the
many blessings I've been given, a wonderful husband of 35 years, 2 beautiful daughters and
their families (which include 5 incredible grandchildren)!
But something was
seriously out of whack.
Three years ago I was 80 lbs overweight, trying to
balance a business, my family, and my health. Needless to say, there was no balance in my
existence. I would lay awake at night wondering how I could regain control of my life. The
lack of sleep was only adding to my stress. I had tried everything to lose weight...
everything...to no avail. Being healthy is a critical part of who I am as I come from a
family of severly obese people (some in excess of 500lbs), so I have made it my life's
purpose to take care of myself. I was miserable at my weight and even
shocked that I had reached a point of being 80lbs overweight. I had all of the same
struggles so many of you are experiencing right now. I felt ashamed, angry, deeply
dissapointed in myself and truly disgusted.
Then, in January of 2007 I decided
to white knuckle my way to weight loss, I was reaching from 100% sheer determination.
So, I joined a boxing class (something I had never done before) and at least 4 days a week
for an hour a day I was a Savate Boxer in-training. For those of you unfamiliar with this
exercise, trust me when I say you are in an aerobic state within 30 seconds of starting. I
diligently counted calories and ate low-fat foods. At the end of 6 months I had lost the
very discouraging amount of 8lbs. So, I went to my doctor and requested a thyroid test. The
test came back "borderline hypo-thyroid"...so, on "my insitence" my doctor ordered a second
test, and it came back positive. My doctor was quick to place me on medication, something
she said I would be on "for the rest of my life". That was a bittersweet moment. At least I
knew why I wasn't seeing results.
Enter into my life my
wonderful friend Sharon Graham.
Sharon is a licensed RN and has been for many
years, a wellness/life coach and an advocate for healthy eating and supplements. After
evaluating my situation, I agreed to try several different natural supplements that would
help rebuild my immune system and my hormones. Within a month I began losing weight and
have been steadily losing since then. It was at that time that I decided that helping other
people become healthy and fit would be my life's purpose.
Sharon is now my mentor and
teacher and I am forever grateful to she and her husband Jerry for helping me regain my
health and vitality.
How am I doing it??
Eating low on the glycemic index is crucial, however, this does not
mean that you will never again be satisfied at a meal. There are some very important changes
that you need to make, and the first one is simply educating yourself on what your specific
body needs.
I am happy to report that since starting this
program I have lost 40lbs and am continuing to lose regularly. I have more energy than I
have ever had, feel more alert, balanced and am living my life with purpose and joy. In
December of 2006 I was wearing a size 18-20. In December of 2007 I am wearing a size 12-14.
I invite you to call or email me for further info. I have
nothing to hide, you have nothing to lose but weight. The consultation is free, please let me
help design a weight loss program specifically for you and help you regain your life.
